Peas pulao




Ingredients

  • Basmati rice - 2 cups
  • Green peas (fresh) - 1/2 cup
  • Cloves - 4
  • Cinnamon stick - 1"
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • Cashews-10
  • Onions - 1, large, finely sliced
  • Green chilies - 2-3, make a paste
  • Ginger garlic paste - 3/4 tsp
  • Water - 3 cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 1/2 tbsp
  • Ghee - 1/2 tbsp

Procedure:

1. Heat oil and ghee in a kadai and add cloves, cinnamon and bay leaves. Also add cashews and fry till they become light brown.
2. Add onions, ginger garlic paste and green chilli paste and fry till raw flavor is lost. Then add peas and cook.
3. If you are cooking in the rice cooker then transfer the peas mixture and basmati rice into the cooker, add salt. For 1 cup rice, add 1 1/2 cup water and cook.
4. If you are cooking in open pan then add rice to the kadai and add water, salt and cook.
5. Garnish with cilantro.
