Sambar Rice

Ingredients:
Rice-2 cups
Toor dal-1 cup
Vegetables(Onion,Carrot,Potato,Peas,Green beans)-1 cup
Tamarind pulp-1 tbsp
Sambar Powder-2 tsp
Salt

Procedure:
  1. Cook dal and rice seperately.
  2. In a deep pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies and curry leaves and wait till they splatter.
  3. Add vegetables one by one and cook till they are soft.
  4. Add mashed toor dal, tamarind pulp, sambar powder,salt and water and little water and let it come to boil.
  5. Now add rice and cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
Serve with pappad.
