I learnt this from my aunt. The best combination for this is plain dal. It goes well with roti too.
Ingredients:
Bottle Gourd(Lauki)-1
Onion-1 cut into small pieces
Red Chillies-8
Coriander Seeds-2 tbsp
Peanuts-1tbsp
Fenugreek Seeds-1/4 tsp
Garlic- one clove
Tamarind Paste- 1 1/2 tsp
Jaggery powder-2 tsp
salt
Procedure:
1. Dry roast red chillies, coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds and peanuts and grind them along with garlic.
2.Heat oil in a pan and fry onions and bottle gourd pieces. Cover the pan and cook till the bottle gourd pieces are soft.
3.Add tamarind paste,salt, masala powder and jaggery and cook till the oil floats.
