Ingredients:
Chole-2 cups
Onion-1
Tomatoes-3
Green chillies-2
Cumin powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp
Red chilli powder-1 tsp
Amchur powder-1/4 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste-1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder-1/2 tsp
Coconut milk-1/2 cup(optional)
Procedure:
1. Pressure cook chole with a tea bag and elaichi.
2. Heat oil in a pan and fry onions. While they are getting fried add ginger garlic paste and green chillies.
3.After they are fried add cumin powder, coriander powder, amchur powder, red chilli powder and fry for 2 mins.
4. Add tomatoes and cook covered till tomatoes are well cooked.
5.Finally add chole, garam masala powder and salt and cook for 10 mins.
6. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with chillies,onions and lemon on the side.
7. Sometimes I add coconut milk for a thicker gravy.
I just love it with bhatura and roti. I got this recipe from Sanjeev kapoor's recipe book. Tastes awesome.
